Far-Forward Tracking and Calorimetry
From Core Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Far Forward region consists of four zones:
- Tracker and EMCal in B0 magnet
- Approximate acceptance 7<θ<20 mrad and |φ|<120 deg, with theta relative to the ion beam line
- FFQ magnet string
- Cold bore (~20K). No detectors. Possible future upgrade with superconducting nano wire trackers, of especial interest for e.g. &Lambda rarr; p π- decays
- Off-Momentum Trackers
- RP stations between 25 and 35 m downstream of IP
- AC-LGAD (timing & tracking)
- SiO2 Cherenkov radiator (dZ resolution by signal amplitude)
- ZDC, 38 m from IP
- EMCal and HCal
- Neutron acceptance 0<θ < (6 mrad) − (2 mrad)*cos(φ)
- Secondary Focus RP trackers
- AC-LGAD and thin SiO2 Cherenkov radiator
- Acceptance (P/Z = 275 GeV, could be different at P/A=41 GeV)
